Take the Adverse Childhood Experiences Quiz

Different types of abuse, neglect, and other hallmarks of a rough childhood can contribute to resiliency and also to difficulty. According to the Adverse Childhood Experiences study, the rougher your childhood, the higher your score is likely to be and the higher your risk for later health and mental health problems.  Adverse childhood experiences have been linked to a variety of adult conditions, ranging from increased headaches to depression to heart disease, and early death.

I work with clients who have lived though neglect, abuse, and trauma as children.  Psychological counselling contributes to both coming to terms with, coping, and rising above these experiences.
